ONLINE APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

NEW STUDENTS APPLICATION LOGIN

To join the university student, follow the steps below:

  1. Decide the program that you want to undertake and ensure you meet the program qualifications stated in "Our Programs" menu above.
  2. Click on "Apply" at the top of this web page or at the bottom of this section"
  3. Fill in the required information in each step of the application
  4. Finish the application process and submit your application.
  5. Once your application is submitted successfully, you will receive an email from us indicating your application ID.
  6. Pay the indicated application fee depending on the Program (find payment details below)
  7. To keep track of your application status, login with the Application ID and Password used during creation of your account.

REQUIREMENTS & PAYMENT DETAILS

a) Documents Required for Application & Registration

To apply or register for a Program, you are required to attach the following documents:

  1. Passport photo - a clear passport sized photo is required (accepted types: jpg,jpeg,png)
  2. Scanned National Registration Card - a clear copy of the National Registration Card (both front and back) – applies to Zambian applicants who are above 16 years of age.
  3. High School certificate or statement of results – Attach all statements of results from final level of high school or the final high school certificate.
  4. Passport – Attach valid passport - applicable to international students without citizenship.
  5. Study permit – attach valid study permit – applicable to Onsite (DAY) international students that pursued secondary school education in Zambia
  6. Resume – attach curriculum vitae. Applicable only for postgraduate applicants
  7. Recommendation Letter – Attach letter of recommendation from employer or previous university. applicable only for postgraduate applicants
  8. English Proficiency - All international students must furnish proof of English proficiency, as all Northrise instruction is conducted in the English language. The English requirement is intended to demonstrate competency in grammar and composition, as well as comprehension and analysis of dense written material.
    International undergraduates: Are required to submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score report with the application for admission. In the absence of a TOEFL score, students will be required to test out of a Northrise administered English test before admittance to their program of interest. A test-out fee applies. NOTE: TOEFL or IELTS scores will help to determine how much additional English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction an applicant might require before full-time enrollment in university courses.
    International Postgraduate: If the undergraduate degree was acquired from an English-based University, then the degree and any English Course on the transcript will suffice. Otherwise, an applicant will be required to submit TOEFL or EILTS test scores or opt to Test Out of a Northrise University administered English test.
  9. Any other relevant documents requested by Admissions office during correspondence.

b) Criteria of Admission into Programs
Pre-Undergraduate level:
Diploma Programs : A GCSE certificate or equivalent with credits or better in a minimum of five subjects, including English and Mathematics
Undergraduate level:
Bachelor’s Degrees :A GCSE certificate or equivalent with credits or better in a minimum of five subjects, including English and Mathematics Science is required for those applying for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or A-Levels in Sciences. BScN Applicants are required to sit for aptitude tests in three subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology. A score of 50 percent gives applicants full admission into the program. Applicants with a score below 50 percent are placed on academic probation with an evaluation of their academic performance conducted after one academic year to assess their progress and GPA before lifting the probation.
Postgraduate level:
  • Diploma in Teaching Methodology: Requires a 3-year Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Master’s Degree Programs: Require a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, along with two years of work experience.
  • Executive MBA (EMBA): Applicants must have already completed courses in economics, statistics, accounting, and business management; otherwise, they will be required to take each of the courses at the undergraduate level simultaneously

d) Personal Statement
All applicants must complete this section failure to which application will Not be processed
  • Undergraduate and other Applicants: Please write a personal statement concerning your career goals and how your Northrise University education would facilitate achieving those goals (in not less than 200 words)
  • Postgraduate applicants: Please write a personal statement concerning your career goals as well as give an assessment of your personal strengths and weaknesses and state how you think your program choice at NU will assist with your development (in not less than 400 words).

DAY Students are required to attend chapel at least 80% of all the times that chapel is held in each Semester.
